Drops of Hope reimagines an everyday product, a bladder leak pad, as a health screening tool for women in healthcare deserts. Instead of asking women to adopt new technology or behaviors, the idea builds innovation into something they already use and trust. By developing a new protocol to extract biomarkers from dried urine trapped in Poise pads, we designed a new way to help detect conditions like UTIs, diabetes, hypertension, and even early signs of bladder cancer. Through Drops of Hope, women would receive health insights through a letter or text message and, if needed, be connected directly to telehealth services for follow-up care.
