TURNING
GREEN | FEATURE FILM

TURNING GREEN is a dark comedy written & directed by Michael Aimette & John G. Hofmann. The film stars Oscar-winner Timothy Hutton, Alessandro Nivola, Colm Meaney and introduces Donal Gallery as James Powers. James is a displaced American teenager living in Ireland in 1979 who discovers an unusual and illegal way to make enough money to get back home. His new enterprise changes his fortunes — and his perspective on life in Ireland.

It premiered in theaters in LA, NY and Chicago (2010) and people said nice things:

NPR: “...enlivened by witty asides and playful commentary.”

Irish Voice: “Superb. A low budget gem. Sharp dialogue and strong acting.”

Variety: “Empowered and alive...a tart comedy.”

The LA Times: "an amusing coming-of-age story"

Huffington Post: "cleverly conceived, beautifully photographed, and well-performed...as neat a directorial debut as I've seen this year."

Box Office: "Funny and believable without trying too hard to be charming.”

In 2011, after its theatrical release, the film was streamed on Showtime® and Netflix and is currently available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video. But if you'd like to watch it, just enter the password TurningGr33n on the Vimeo link at the bottom of the page. Shhhh…
